Default removing front sway bar? handling?

alright, in order to cut some weight, thinking about fropping out the front sway bar for BMR's radiator support. now, if for instance you have the a-arm support and strut tower brace, would that have comparable cornering to the front swaybar? still tying things together, just different things. im not looking for a road warrior, but to shave off 25 lbs, thats cool. i drive like a lil ole lady around town, then try to launch it at the strip. so i dont need world class performance every day. just a thought...

I asked the guys at BMR that question and they told me that if you intend to daily drive the car they DO NOT RECOMMEND using the brace. If it is strictly your track car then go for it. When I asked them what it would handle like, they basically told me it would handle like and SUV....LOL So I would say don't do it. But then again if your really want to do it, you could see how long it takes and do the swap at the track or something and then swap it back to drive home. It just seems like that woudl be alot or work every time you go to the track. Just my .02

I haven't done the front swaybar delete becasue I like to hit the curves.

However, a few guys on this forum have removed the front swaybars and say that the handling on the street isn't that bad. If you really "drive like a grandma" then I think you'll be A-OK.

It's not worth adding the strut tower bar--they are mainly for looks and it's more weight. Adding the strut tower bar (And/or A-arm support) is not going to give you back the body roll control you lost from removing the sway bar.

My sway bar has been off for 4k miles now, I still go through corners pretty hard. I never pushed my car to its limits in the curves before and I haven't had to alter my driving for not having the sway bar. Yes it does have a little more body roll, I can live with going through a 35mph posted curve at 55. I say take it off it's not that hard, if you aren't happy take 20 minutes to put it back on.

so it really doesnt handle that bad to begin with, and with a strut brace or a link, it would probably be about the same. i really dont do hard daily driving through TURNS, the cops around here seem to find ya every time. but straightaways, thats another story.... they let that slide now and then. and i only jump on the track every month or so, just to see where its sitting... thanks for all the good info guys. sound like a must try first and see how it goes.
