Attempted rear sway install

Attempted rear sway install
Just attempted an install. Not successful. Oh well. I tried to slide under the car without having the rear on wood or ramps like some others suggested. It was all on but just couldn't get the top bolt/nuts on the strut anchor to tighten. No room at all. So I took everything off and put it aside. Called ford parts at the dealership down here and ordered the bracket clip stud things. Those are supposed to be eaiser to get at and tighten. But man, 28 dollars for the set of 4. I'm sure it will be worth it. Wish me luck next week when I attempt it for the 2nd and last time. hehe

RE: Attempted rear sway install
Hello Rnstanger,
I installed last week, it seems that without having the car up on a lift, it would be a difficult unless you are a smaller agile person to get some leverage to install the bars...........anyway I am 6'1" 225 lbs...............I was too big to install without the vehicle being lifted..........anyway good luck, you will be happy when the install is complete!
Cheers!

RE: Attempted rear sway install
I installed my front and rear swaybars last weekend and it was an over half day project mostly because I wasn't sure what I was doing. I had some trouble with the rear attaching the bar to the struts as well. I had purchased the Ford bolts with the fittings already attached and it made it much easier. What worked for me was removing one rear tire, attaching the bar, reinstalling the tire and then repeating the process for the other side. I originally attempted to do the install with both tires on but there was just no room. I'm average size, 6' about 190lbs. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have. For me it was definitely a learn as I go kind of experience. However once you get it done all of the trouble will be worth it! The handling improves so much!

RE: Attempted rear sway install
I just bought the spohn rear sway bar and I was getting ready to install it but while looking at the instructions that come with it they are not very clear with the pictures and such. So I was wondering if anybody has different instrcution from another company or some tips or just anything that would help with the install. I was also reading about these ford bolts and fittings and what exatly are they (part # if possible) and how much do they really help?
