Default Cheaper shocks?

Is there a cheaper set of shocks for an '07 lowered 1.5 inches? The Tokicos are like $500 or more.....are the FRPP decent? And where can I get them?

Thanks

How do you plan on driving your car? Is it just street driving or do you plan on going to a track day?

It's just pretty much a daily driver. I'm not much of a racer.

Good question - I 'm looking for the same thing. I installed springs and the stock struts and shocks can't cope - a little too bouncy for my tastes. I'd like KYB AGX to come out with a full kit - I've had great luck with them in the past - 8 way adjustable and designed for lowered vs. stock. The non-adjustable Ford parts are about 400 as are the non-adjustable Steeda parts - but I'd prefer to be able to adjust them somewhat if I can keep the costs down.

LarryS aren't those just stock replacements? I was looking for something specifically for being lowered 1.5 inches....but not the super expensive Tokicos.

Yes, they are stock replacement. Won't stock replacement work with a lowered car? Maybe not...

From what I have read they will work but not very well. Although the Eibach site claims that their springs are designed to work with stock shocks, a lot of the guys here on this forum claim that the ride becomes terrible and you eventually destroy the shocks. Maybe I'll just stick with the factory shocks for a while and see what happens.

If you do not want to pay for the Toickos, then I suggest either the Roush shocks or the FRPP shocks. Both are designed for lowered cars.

Hi suoperdave,

Are you serious? You have no idea how good a deal the Tokico D-Specs are, $500 is DIRT CHEAP for a complete set of high quality gas charge adjustable struts and rear dampers! I've paidmore thanfor a singledamper for my street cars in th past and on a racing chassis $1,000-3,000 a corner are common prices. $500? What are you waitng for, buy them!

HTH
