Default Camber issue

Last summer I had a poping noise in the front end when turning into tight spots. I took it into the dealer and they said there was a service bulletin that called for sometype of strut bushing or spacers (can't remember what they called it).

Last week I noticed that the inside of both front tires were wearing really bad. I took it into a trusted local shop today and they said the frontend is was way out of alinement and that they could not even get it close. They asked it had ever been wrecked and all types of other questions. Of course its never been wrecked, so I told them about the service bulletin and what the dealer told me they done. They said they should have put in a adjustable cam bolt.

So I just got off the phone with the dealership and they said they would have to put it on there machine and check it out for thereself. I told them the local shop said they should have installed a adjustable cam bolt and the guy acted like I was crazy.[:@]

Anyone every have this issue before? I tried serching but no luck.

Take it to another shop, get their opinion.

Sometimes the dealer doesn't follow TSB's like they're supposed to, i'm not sure what all is involved with fixing that specific problem but you may want to check-up on it.

I took the stang to the dealer today and here what they told me.

The camber was at -.01 on one side and 0 on the other. They said it called for -.08 on both sides. The tech told me that I would get better treadware by staying where I am at now. He said that at -.08 it would ware more on the inside. He said the car is set up for handeling and thats normal. He said to get it to factory specs that a adjustable cam kit would be needed. I asked him why a 2 year old car in perfect condition would be so far out of factroy specs and would require a adjustable cam kit at my expense. He could not give me answer. So I said thank you and have a nice day.

So, should I stay where I am at or buy a adjustable cam kit and get back to factory specs? I would rather have longer tread life that better handeling.
