Yes you can put lowering springs on without struts and shocks. In fact I stopped into Steeda's Pompano Florida facility (my office used to be in Pompano about a mile from their facility) before I did my mods and they told me that I did not have to change the dampers when I put on the new springs. Steeda told me that the stock dampers are a good choice for street applications. Well I move to California and ended up having JBA do my mods and they recomended new dampers. The logic being that if you are going to change the springs you might as well change the dampers since everything is apart anyway. I went with the Eibach pro kit and FRPP dampers among other modsand I have to say the ride ended up being fairly stiff for the street. Not sure I would go so stiffon a street application if I were to do it over again.
