Default Maier springs for 05+ ?

hi
I'm putting Tokico D-specs on my '05 GT, and want to put new springs on at the same time of course.
Was all set to get the Eibach Pro-Kit, but I'm thinking I'll put on Maier Racing custom springs instead (I've heard Eibachs and Steeda are good, but apparently the Maier ones are more specifically tuned for the Mustang). By all accounts, the folks at Maier really know what they are doing with Mustangs, plus the gent I spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable, which always bodes well.

But I've never actually seen their springs on a recent car, so wondering if anyone has got Maier springs installed on an '05+? I'd love to hear how they perform, or better yet pics?
(Once I get my car done, I'll try to post a few pics for everyone's reference of course)

thanksa lot

Hi daz72,

I've restored a couple of vintage Mustangs back when that was what you did. But on my '66 fastback I installed all of the Shelby suspension (under rider control arms throught the rear floor boards with reinforced floorboards, heavy duty rear leaf springs,Shelby racing coil springs, relocated contol arms, Monte Carlo bar, radiator and strut towerbars, red Koni racing dampers, heavy duty bushings, front discs, etc.),and brake components when I did the suspension back in the late '70's. I bought what was represented to me as being copies of the Shelby GT-350 race springs from MaierRacing that were supposed to be made to thesamespecs as the origninal Shelby GT-350 springs. I was very disapointedwith these springs as they were very poorly made and even managed to sagon the car leaving the car with a rightside lean! These springswere poorly made and poorly finished, I don't even think they were shot peenedor heat treated! In other words they were junk of the worst kind! It was a shame really because I purchased other suspension components for this car from Maier Racing and they were all of similar quality to what was passing for O.E. back whn the car was built.

Use extreme caution and confirm that the springs are cold formed heat trated and shot peened or DO NOT BUY THEM! It would be in your best interest to buy fromwell known and well tested suspension maker like Eibach or Steeda before you jump off that bridge. Also make sure you can return them is they are not to your liking.

HTH!

appreciate the feedback on Maier, thanks.
I'll certainly check for that construction (or maybe I'll just stick with Eibach)

anyone have experience with Maier on an 05+? seems not, given the lack of response...

cheers
