Do sway bars really need to be matched?

Do sway bars really need to be matched?
I searched the forums looking for this one and found different opinions from different people. I've decided that I'm definitely going to purchase the Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar kit for my '07 V6, and I'm most likely going to install it myself since it's so simple. But I read that if you have a stiff rear sway bar (such as the Hellwig) with the stock front sway bar, it promotes too much oversteer and loss of traction? And therefore you should "match" the swaybars (I guess meaning same stiffness)?
I'm just wondering because I only feel like paying for the rear sway bar kit which is what makes the handling so much tighter. I'm willing to buy both if it's what you're supposed to do. Anybody have any advice?

My car had understeer with the stock suspension. I installed BMR LCA's and BMR rear sway bar, now the understeer is gone and it is more of a neutral steering (better). Plus my traction is improved. I'm not sure how much of this is attributed to the LCA's and how much to the rear sway bar (or the combination of both), but you should be ok without changing out your front sway bar (mine is still stock).

Hellwig makes an awesome part!
I have the stock V6 front and the Hellwig rear.
It made a huge difference!! Best mod so far. I am fine with stock up front but I would love to upgrade.

Im pretty sure its safe to just go with a new rear sway bar and not replace the front. Tomorrow I'm gonna call Nancy at Hellwig and ask for the Group Buy. Does anyone know if that's still around?

I put on front and rear GT bars and the car feels as if it needs wider tires now. It handles great but sometimes I feel as if the car is so stiff that it floats around on the sidewall of the tire.
