Default Rust on rotors..

I have cross-drilled slotted rotors on my GT, that are starting to get a little corrosion on them. If I used a wire brush on them would that be ok or would it mess them up? Thanks.

I wouldn't wire brush the pad-to-rotor surfaces since any rust will be wiped the first couple of applications of the brakes, but the other surfaces wouldn't be damaged. Unfortunately, they'll rust back up again the next time they get damp.

Thanks for the reply. When I got the rotors they said they weren't supposed to rust.[:@] Is there any way to prevent them rusting up again, besides never getting them wet?

You would have to get a hi-temp paint, then mask or tape off the section of the rotors where the pads make contact. Once you do that you can paint the center section and the vents on the edges. If you paint the whole rotor you will glaze your pads under braking and probably not stop for whatever you were intending to stop for and crash your car. I have painted rotors before and to be honest, its a ton more hastle then its worth.
