GT takeoffs are 12.4 inch versus 11.5(V6). Rear V6 and V8 is the same at 11.8 inch. Front calipers and pads are the same. You need 2 caliper brackets part #6R3Z-2B134-B,the same left and right. Any Ford dealer. newtakeoffs.com for the rotors. New pads, your choice. 17 inch wheels or bigger only. 16s will not work. BINGO!! better brakes.
I like the idea of take-offs to swap in the GT size disks. I understand with the brackets and disks you don't even need to bleed the brakes. Bolt them in and go. New pads is a good step as long as the calipers are accessible.

The whole thing could be simple, it seems, but not always. I started the process in November 2007, and it's still not finished. Nutshell, I "won" a package on eBay, 120-somthing plus shippng of 45 or so. Very fast delivery from their Los Angeles area branch. sent OK calipers and brackets, RUSTY V6 DISKS. I complained, then very quickly they sent another pair of disks, GT this time, but RUSTY AND SCORED, obviously not the 5-mile-old disks they described. I complained, they said they'd send a good set from Fort Wayne, but never did, and stopped acknowledging my communications when the eBay resolution period ran out. I let them take advantage of my patience, but they still look like thieves to me.

See the evidence at:

I'd stlll like those good disks, but I'm not going to pay for them twice.

just traded with someone local. brackets and rotors are gone.

anyone want to trade their v6 for my gt caliper brackets and rotors? i am just north of houston if anyone wants to meet up and swap even, add $20 if your rotors need turning.

i am putting the 16" v6 wheels with spinners on my '65. i bought some ~4000 mile gt takeoff calipers and rotors off fleabay. i later found out the gt specific parts will not work on the 16" v6 wheels.

if interested, send me message via email in my profile.

Will the 18x8.5 Bulitts fit on a V6 with V6 brakes?
Or is it just the steering stops that GTs have that V6s
dont that makes CJ Pony parts state that the 18x8.5
Bullitts WILL NOT CLEAR V6 BRAKE CALIPERS!

V6 brake caliper clearance or steering stop issues
with 18x8.5 50mm offset 255/45-18 rims on a V6?

I have 18X8.5 FRPP Bullit rims on my V6:
1.Clearance is about zero mm; V6 calipers will slightly rub on the inside of the rim (bigger diameter of GT rotorwill certainly prevent rub)
2. Steering stopper is only to preventtyre rubbing inside on the control armat full steering
My own solution was to install 1 " wheel spacer; no tyre rubbing, gap rim caliper OK !

Will this require any additional hardware (i.e. longer bolts)?

No, the one time use hardware is included with the caliper brackets.
