Default Light wheels that won't break the bank

I know this has been brought up over and over... but I'm looking for light 18" wheels that are reasonably priced that aren't too ricer. I was pretty set on the Wedssport TC005s but they've been out of production for a while and Tire Rack has like 2 left. I've searched around but I don't think I'll be able to find them anywhere. So, any suggestions? I like the FR500s too, but i haven't seen weights on them anywhere. Does anyone know or would someone who has them be willing to pop one off and weigh it (with the tire obviously)?

You are kind ofasking a little too much here, light weight 18s are not cheap let alone 18" tires. This all depends on what "reasonably priced" means for you. Check www.edgeracing.com, they have a very large selection of light weight wheels.

I bought my car with these:

Not super light (23#), but lighter than most. I was surprised at the difference when I picked one of them up in one hand and my new terminator wheel in the other.

I wanna say the FR500s w/o tire weighs about 31lbs. The stock 17"bullitts weigh around 25lbs w/o tire.

Yeah, I know I'm asking a lot, but that's the point of comparison shopping, right? I guess I would say I would like to be under $400-500 per wheel. Anything much more than that and I wouldn't want to run it on the street; I would buy something expensive for a track-only wheel. I emailed a couple places, FR500s from wheel replicas are around 26-28, which is in the wrong direction. I do like the SSR Comp-H wheels but I'm kind of afraid to put a 6 spoke wheel on this car... I just think it looks so much better with 5 spokes. I like the Euromax 612s a lot too but I would expect them to be heavy.

i just got euromax 612's put on this past friday, haven't even got pics yet. i would take one off and weigh it for you, but i'm at college and don't have a jack on me to do it and don't have a scale to weigh it on. if you find anything out about their weight, i'd appreciate a pass-along.

You'd be hard-pressed to find an 18" wheel under 28-30 lbs. I found 4, used SVT Cobras (GT500's) in excellent condition on ebay for about $750 including shipping. New, Ford sells them for $450 each and Tirerack sells them for $280 each so there ARE deals out there. But if you're interested in a set of stock 18 x 8.5" fanblades let me know.

Tex- I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer.

Nuke- I know they're hard to find, but I'm going to be sticking with my slightly banged up stock Bullit's (that have winter tires on them right now) until I find something lighter to replace them with, and I really don't want to have to dismount those winter tires, so I'm on a mission! I do like the fanblades, but I'm looking for something a little more rare than stock wheels, so no thanks!
