Steeda Upper Strut Mounts?
Has anyone installed these? What is involved with the installation? Whats tools are needed? How long will it take?
I am getting together my suspension order, and am not too sure if I should order these. I would like to do it right the first time, but within reason. Meaning, if its a PIA install, for something that I dont really need, then I'd rather do without it.
I'm ordering the following items:
Steeda Sport Springs
Tokico D-Specs
Steeda Adj. Panhard Bar and Panhard Brace
If I do in fact get them, will they be sufficient to set my camber adjustments, or will I need camber plates OR bolts?
Here is a link from the Steeda website:

It says basic tools are needed
Thanks suspension guru's!

You install them when you put in your struts and shocks. I would also get bolts. The camber adjustments depends on what your aiming for.

I can't say the mounts are a pain to install, but you do have to pay attention when assembling because there are multiple pieces that go together like a big sandwich. They aren't like the stock mounts which are one complete assembly. I had a slight bit of trouble getting the o-rings in the steeda mounts to cooperate, but once that was overcome everything was ok. Having said that, even given the extra level of effort that would be required with these, they are the best of anything thats out there for the street. I've noticed my steering to be much smoother and less "grainy" than with the stock mounts (although I never had the infamous "clunk"). As for alignment, I haven't taken mine in yet, but the I would think the level of adjustment would be enough without needing the bolts or plates down below. I think F1 Fan has installed these on multiple mustangs hopefully he'll chime in eventually... I say add them to your list. There really isn't much of an alternative. The stock mounts are garbage. If it helps, I think Steeda has the install instructions on their website which might give you a better idea of the install procedure.

This will help you decide if you want to tackle them

They really do not seem too difficult to install. Maybe I'll just add these to the install list (it never ends lol).
Does anyone know if these are sufficient for camber adjustments, or will I need the camber bolts too?

As long as you resist the temptation to take the Steeda mounts apart, they are no more difficult to install than the stock mounts. As mentioned before, there are a lot of pieces in there and you need to be careful they don't come apart accidentally.
I have my camber set to -1.8 degrees with Eibach Pro Kit springs and there was still room to gomore. I doubt you'll need (or want) camber bolts. I'm very happy with my Steeda mounts.
Good luck with your install.

The mounts have enough range of movement that bolts are not needed unless you are going with a very agressive drop.
The install is not that difficult, took about the same amount of time as a normal mount.
Good Luck

Thanks guys! I am going to order them.. my baby should get the best lol.
quick question: lets say i was being stupid and didnt want to touch anything in my suspension (leave it all stock), except for the strut mounts. would I be able to tell the difference during every day driving? Any benefit?

They are a bit more "heavy duty"...but i would say probably not, and if you did, it would be VERY minimal.
I did some research on them, and found no real downsides other than the price tag.
I went with them because I did not want to risk the "popping" everyone talks about.
From the sounds of it, the stock mounts are supposed to be a one time use item, so I went with the Steeda ones...do i regret it? I cant really tell...mainly becuase I havent had any problems, and besides, if im happy, its worth the money.
