I've seen people discuss the BMR version, but I was curious what the "experts" thought about this particular radiator support.

According to Steeda's website, "Steeda’s new Tubular Front radiator support is the only one on the market today that allows you to maintain your front swaybar and reduce weight at the same time!"

I definately want to keep my front swaybar intact for daily driving purposes, but would this hinder my current handling setup?

Does anyone know how much this Steeda support weighs in comparison to the stock support?

I am looking for safe and reasonable ways to remove weight mainly from the front of my car, nothing radical.

I do not want to relocate my battery to the rear.

I'm trying to drop some weight and lowermy 1/4 mile time.

As a side note, are there such things as lighter weight wheel lug nuts to lessen rotating mass?
I can't see how they could get much lighter!

I'm thinking about this mod as well. I plan on adding a Procharger and would like to offset the added weight over the front wheels. My concerns are will the weigh savings be enough and will the support be strong enough to hold up to Trackdays and Autocross.

This was discussed not long ago... I'd advise against it. The bars aren't small, and a lot of load is put through them and their attachement points. Without getting into detail, let me tell you that front bar mountingand assorted hardware has been an issue on some S197's, including two I drive fairly often.

Bars need to be mounted nice and sturdy to work correctly. I'm against it for any sort of handling use. For a true street car that's not driven hard and drag raced a lot, on a stock front bar I'd say you'll be ok. But anything else is a no go. Not a corner carver, track car, R-comps, or cars with bigger front bars.

As for less rotational weight... don't worry about the lugnuts. Most of the wheels weight a ton. If you want to save unsprung and rotational mass, you can save a good 9 pounds a wheel if you what you are looking for. Not only are you shaving almost 40 pounds from the car, it's almost 40 pounds of flywheel mass.
