DR or Slicks?
No, dont run 18" in front. Use the 17" stock rims and it will be lighter than an 18" rim.
If you are using these at the track only I would get the bias-ply ET streets 3743. They work the best.
If you are going to drive them on the street a lot go with a drag radial 3743r.
I run the bias-ply on the street occasionally and it is lots of fun! I can get awsome launches on the street with them too. Not great for turning or highway speeds though.

OK, well my 18's are stock but thats why i was wondering about the 17's for $250. And i was only looking to get slicks for the track and track only so the bias ply ets would be best then huh? and ill run the ets with the 17's in the rear with the 17's up front.
is this true? do the drag radials do this? bc i break @105mph
if your gonna swap - the bias ply - the do hook better - but will be a bit wiggley on the top end @ 100+
Yes a Bias tire will feel loose at the big end of the track. As you speed up the contact patch will actually narrow somewhat. It may feel a little wierd the first time you use them.
I have been told the Bias tire is actually better on the car at the track also. Since it flex more then the radial it will absorb more of the launch and transfer less to the drivetrain. Don't know how true that is.
I run mine at about 12lb's to 10lb's pressure depending on the track.

benefits of DR's:
-can drive them on the street
-last longer
-more stable
benefits of slicks:
-stickier
-can air down more
-more potential for lower 60's.
in the end, unless your putting down serious power or 4.10's, you probably won't need slicks.

Sorry to bring back a slightly old thread but I have a ? on the same topic. I havethe Paxton Novi 2200 Kit on the way and need some track tires. I have a spare set of 17x9 rims I used on my Cobra. I talked to seth from brenspeed and he said the bias ply is much better so I am pretty much just wondering if the 26X11.50-17LT will be fine to use on those rims. I will be changing tires at the track. Any comments or suggestions?
