What is the biggest tire I can fit on my stock 18x8.5 rim?
I know I seen a thread a long time ago on this but I could not find it.
Right now I have the stock 235/50/zr18 G-force KDW.
And do you think this tire would be good enough to handle a Whipple HO kit on the street well?
(I am buying Cheater Slicks for the track)

 

275/40 I think as the biggest
255/45 optimal.

 

According to my local tire shop, 255's are as big as they will install on an 8.5" rim. That being said, my neighbor (who works at said tire shop) said that he has put 275's on for a couple of guys, but also said that they have had issues with them due to the narrow width of the rim. Basically, +1 to what MexGT said.

I have 265/40 on my rear... works fine. i recently saw 275/40s and they looked ok but most manufactures will say u'd need a 9" min for them
