Default thumping noise when driving

When driving down the road, I sometimes hear a thumping noise. It’s very rhythmic at normal driving speed but I can’t hear it at slow speeds. It just start a few weeks ago, then it goes away then comes back. My car has 35,000 miles on it. I am going under the car this weekend checking the LCAs and Panhard bar. Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks
Ryan

Does the rhythm change with the speed of the car? Is it a sharp noise (metal on metal) or dull noise (a loose rubber isolated part)? Did you change your tires (lower profile) recently? Lower profile tires transmit much more road noise (expansion joints). Have you locked up your tires recently (flat spot)? Have you checked you lug nuts? That would be more noticeable at higher speeds. Does the thumping come and go when driving on the same stretch of road? I'd also check the shock bolts and look for any interference with the exhaust system (look for evidence of rubbing). You'd be surprised how much it moves when you drive. Don't forget to check the suspension bolts in the front end too (especially the sway bar links). Looks like you're lowered so they have been removed since the car left the factory. BTW, I'm suggesting some simple things that are easily overlooked (been there) and not doubting your mechanical/diagnostic abilities.

Sweet avatar by the way

Good luck.

Many tires develop flat spots when sitting that slowly go away after the tires warm up, usually after a few miles of driving. But since you say it comes and goes, I doubt that's it. Let us know if you solve it.

Thanks guys for the suggestion but I didn't get a change to go under the car this weekend, I hate moving [:'(]

Red06 I didn't lower the car yet (just a pic some guy made for me to get me to lower it and I like it ). I only hear it between the speeds of 35-45. It not loud at all, I have to have the windows down and the radio off to notic it and it's a dull noise. I did have the pypes mid-muffler install once then when back to stock so I will be checking the exhaust. I did check the lug nuts and the tires are good. shock bolts on the shock tower or the shock to hub?

I love the avatar too, but I've had it up for a long time. Do you want to help me pick a new one?

Nuke I'll post again, I should get to quality time with the car with week.
