Default Big Brake kit

Ok, i've been researching quite a bit lately, but I would really like some user feedback. So whose running what, how do you like it, how much, and it has to clear a 19" rim. I'd perfer to run a 4 piston caliper, and i'm thinking slotted and drilled...

You won't find a lot of support for a BBK in this forum.

And those threads are just on the second page. I didn't look any further back.

Are you using the car for HPDE's or do you just want something to look good behind the 19" wheels?

For the most part, unless you are going to do dedicated track days, making multiple hot laps, you won't need any of the big brake kits. You can buy new OEM rotors or other name brand, pads of any of the aftermarket variety and change your rubber brake lines to braided stainless steel lines if you must.

Drilled slotted rotors are mostly for looks and offer no real benefits. In fact, most drilled rotors will crack prematurely. There are several guys on here that can tell you a simple pad switch with better tires will do more for your money than anything else.

I listened to some guys who really know their stuff and took their advice. I got some Hawk HPS pads and Powerslot rotors and the difference was dramatic. I needed the rotors because I hot spotted the other rotors and these were on sale. Otherwise, Iwould have kept the stock ones. I still have them actually. The brakes are quiet, low dusting and work well.

Set yourself a goal on what you want to accomplish and go fromthere.

AP Racing are actually second tier Brembo's

Great brakes are like great tires - they cover up a lesser talented driver's mistakes. Unless you are doing endurance racing, bigger brakes are strictly bling.
