Default New Brake Recommendations Please

Hello all, I'm new to the forum.

I bought a 2007 GT last year and I have been very unhappy with the stock brakes. They always heat up way too quickly if I drive hard and when that happens they vibrate and don't stop the car for anything. Frankly, its been a bit unnerving.

I want to replace the rotors and calipers with something better than stock. Something that will handle about 400HP. While I'm still at the stock 300HP I plan on power upgrades and want to have the right stopping power when I need it.

Can anyone make any recommendations? I expect to pay for quality but sky isn't the limit for me so best bang for the buck suggestions would be appreciated.

Baer makes good brakes for S197s i've been told. I plan on getting the Shelby/Baer units for my V6.

I have a 400+ hp mustang and all I did was upgrade the roters/decerators to bear breake cross drilled and sloted cost about $500.00 and they came with new Hawk pads. I don't know how hard you drive but this helped me out and looks good too. If you are driving road course style then bear 4 piston fronts with 14" rotors will do the trick, but the cost is about $3,000.00 to $3,500.00 for the kit. I hope this helps.

Thanks, $500 Baer sounds like just what I'm looking for and at the right price.
