Help: Rear Spring replacement on a 07 vert
Folks - I got my front springs in OK (Eibach Pro Kit) but when it came to the rears, it's a bit more challenging on the vert compared to the coupe. The rear bracing on the 05+ verts limits the rear differential to drop as low as the it does on the coupe - thus it makes it a challenge to get the load off the rear springs to the point where they'll come out in a safe and easy manner.
The way I see it, there appears to be two options:
1 - use spring compressors in a very crampped space to try to compress & remore the springs
2 - remove the structural bracing to allow the rear differential to drop far enough to remove the entire load off the springs.
For those who have tackled this job themselves and succeeded, which of the two methods (or maybe a different method) did you employ?
If you did drop the bracing, was it as simple as removing the bolt at each corner, of are there fasteners that attach to the top of the verticle arms of the bracing, the arms that sit up against the undercarriage.
Thanks,
Dan

UPDATE - Well I got the rears in today - took about a two hours fifteen minutes total. It required me to use the spring compressors on each side, cranking them down almost all the way. With little clearance, it was a lot of wrenching. I even had to use the compressors to compress the Eibach Pros to get them back in, although it didn't require me to crank them down too far. I'm just glad they're done....damn these verts can be a pain some time..

Absolutely, there would have been no way of getting them out had I not done so. Remember, the verts have a structural brace which sits lower than the rear axle, that's why the rear axle on a vert won't drop as far down as it will on a coupe

You were correct to not remove the vert bracing as the
workshop manual shows it to be a pain in the a$$ to get
back on there correctly. Throw away this hardware and
that hardware for new hardware.
Bravo. Slap yourself on the back for that one.

Thanks, now to try and find a front strut tower brace that will clear the factory plenium cover..I realize some will say it doesn't do much, if anything, but it it completes my engine compartment for my Mustang Clubs member display at the Motor Trend Magazine sponsored Auto Show in Fresno CA on November 1
