Default Shelby Razors Kicking up rocks

I heard some rumblings that the Shelby Razors are prone to kicking up rocks into your lower quarters when driving on gravel. Not that I plan to drive my car on gravel roads, but we do get caught on them periodically out here due to construction and just curious if anyone else has had this experience??

Thanks...

why would razors kick up rocks any worse than any other rims... it's all in the tires.

didn't make much sense to me either, but since I am considering those rims thought it was worth a quick post.

If the wheels were throwing rocks.........they would get totally nicked up in the process. The tires' tread however, would make a difference.

I would guess it has more to do with a wheels offset. A Razor with a 24mm offset will be closer to the edge of the outside of the fenders than a Razor with a 40mm offset.

Exactly. The wheels themselves have nothing to do wtih it. The offset and width of the wheels do, and since everyone one "upgrading" wheels isn't likely using a stock wheel or tire size, they stick out further and you will get more stuff kicked up on the body.

Saying that this only happens with Razors but not some other wheel the same size is silly.

Those of us with wider wheels and tires could always install mud flaps if we don't like the chipped paint
