The Nitto storage recommendations have to do with the tires' structural integrity, and most UHP tires seem to be OK in this respect in moderately cold weather (15 - 20°F or so) as far as that goes. Doesn't get below those numbers frequently enough or long enough where I live to comment about UHP behavior at lower temps.

But don't expect them to give the same levels of ultimate grip that they provide in warmer weather.
