Default Steeda UCAs

I'm looking for a steeda adjustable UCA. Do you need to buy the regular street UCA before you can add the competition or street upgrade kits? The website is vague on this. I'd like the upgraded street setup and currently have a stock UCA, which part # do I need?

I recall F1FAN talking about the different verisons, but I can't find the post.

Thx

I agree the Steeda site is confusing on the UCA's.

Based on F1Fan's recommendation I got the 555-4109 Steeda UCA and installed it in the hole that used the longer adjustment of the link. Don't forget to lengthen the link per the instructions. This UCA is the one with both the mount and the link. The mount is probably strong enough to support the whole car! Be warned though that the installation of the 555-4109 is an absolute total PITA to install. You need to drop the gas tank to get the bracket in and so need to have the tank nearly empty. As Argonaut remininded me if your car is a later one then you need a big TORQX bit to undo the tank bolts. You will also need to bend the edge of the tank lip down to clear the mount. Don't be faint hearted about this and make sure your initial bend is as close to the tank body as you can get because the steel work hardens as you bend it.

We did this with the car on a hoist. It can be done on stands but only if you are younger than we are.

As you can see my car has an SC rated at 425 HP and axle hop was a real problem before the suspension mods. As all of the mods were done at one weekend I can't say which parts cured the hop but it is now gone.

heh they don't even list 555-4109 anymore. That's for your input. The part about the gas tank is more than I would want to get involved with, which means paying for labour if I go that route.

Try http://www.steeda.com/products/adjus...ontrol_arm.php second one down.

Any UCA that replaces the mount as well as the link requires dropping the tank to get the link out.

Thanks. I missed that page.

I went with the standard adjustable street UCA. I don't want to go through that much trouble to replace this UCA. Hopefully I won't regret it.

For a non SC car you probably made the right choice.

Let us know how it works out.
