What's the deal about billet? Is it better than tubular?

CHE, They are quiet and have a good ride. I had Spohn poly/rod end combination and they were to noisy for the street. It was impossible to keep them from squeaking. The CHE's don't make any noise at all, and they have been on for a year already.

looks like the majority thinks bmr is the way to go (thanks for the responses too, everyone). now, does anyone think the billet bmrs are worth the extra money, or will the cheaper ones work fine for a daily driver?

They can make more money. In the market i'm familiar with, people only use billet when making a forging isn't profitable (something custom or limited productions) there's no strength difference/advantage between it and quality 4340 or chrome moly

Yep, BMR! You're not gonna get much for 150 bucks. If you're real serious, get the BMR tubular (BTW Billett is just for looks), and get spherical rod end/ poly bushing end, or poly/poly end at the least. ( Rod end/rod end would be race car only, too much NVH for the street).

I got the SVT GT 500 LCA's from FRPP, which are really the same stamped steel arms as the stockers, but with stronger rubber bushings (not even as strong as polys, though) They were under 150 bucks, but I'm not a serious drag racer, I just wanted slightly better than stock, but with no noise issues, or other BS. (I'm also stock ride height) I went to the track, my 60' times weren't good: 2.00-1.98, and with the stock 17" Pirelli tires, but like I said, I'm not serious about it, and I wasn't wheel hopping. I turned a 13.1 at 105 mph so I was happy enough...

Since when is a 2.0 sec. or better 60' time bad on the stock tires? Seems like that is actually pretty decent for the pirellis.

haha....depends on experience i guess.......i wouldnt expect many to be getting a 2.0 in the 60 on stock tires if they had started to mod the car. If you have the experience from racing for enough years im sure that you can do it consistently though.
