Tire Help
Im putting on after market 18" gt 500 chrome rims on my 06 gt convertible. Now comes the million dollar question.... what tires... to many to choose from. I'm going with 255/45/18 in the front and 285/40/18 in the rear. Same set up as the stock gt500.. I ve done the research and would like some input.. I dont want to spend over $250 a tire...

To help us answer your question we need some more information on what you plan on using the car. For example is it a Daily Driver (DD), do you plan on using the car on road courses track days on the quarter mile. Do you plan on driving the car in the winter and if so will you be putting other tires on the car?
What other mods have been done to your car?
How much is tire noise an issue?

Tire Help
I am only driving the car in the summer. Strictly for fun. No other mods yet I just picked the car up in October. My first two jobs are wheels and exhaust. I dont mind tire noise as long as it is not crazy loud.. I just want the car to look bad *** and drive good.

I'm running the BFG KDW2s because they are a highly rated summer tire. They also happen to look good with their unusual tread pattern

In the summer I am running 285/40/18 KDW2s front and rear on 18 x 9.5 rims. The rims have the correct 45 mm offset and so they fit on the front. Before the car was lowered there was no rubbing on the front but after lowering with the Steeda Competition springs there is now very slight rubbing on the inner fender wells when parking.
I'm running them front and rear for two reasons;
1) it allows me to rotoate front to back
2) the SC puts more weight on the front end which aggravates the front end weight bias
I chose the KDW2s because they offer a good mix of dry and wet performance.
The car is built for road course track days and as a DD.
