Default Pic/info request lowering on stock wheels..

I did a quick look to find some info on this but im a bit time chrunch so please do not bash too hard.

This i hope is not another " wanna lower my car" thread but i do. I had some last min questions before i buy. i wanna send my order in today.

Right now im torn between the sportline and the pro kit. I like the drop ~1.5" up front alot. Im looking for the same flushness in the back to and i think the sport lines ~2" can get me there, i liked the slammed look just not sure know if i wanna drive as a DD a SLAMMED car. I am a little worried about ripping my exhaust off and scraping everything with the sportline. It seems the prokit is very popular.

Right now im looking more for looks than performace so i wanna get just the springs, chamber bolts and a adj panhard for now. Later(with in 6 months) i will had LCA relocation, Adjustable UCA and a good set of struts

I do not plan on getting bigger wheels till atleast next year i have the stock bullets painted black right now. I wanna see if any one can post a pic of there car no matter what the drop with the stockers or close to the same size tire of the stock 17s. It hard to see the "drop" when the car has 20's with low pros i feel. Also with the any information about your drop us used like what panhard and such. And if any one can help me with any recomendations please list any.

Thanks guys

Find a pic of any stock Shelby GT... it's on 18's, but they have Pro-kit (nee Ford Racing) springs.

I'd also mention that if you were to do springs it's far wiser to do the dampers with them rather than the brackets, arms, even the Adj. PHB for that matter. Why do the work twice for one reason.. but the other is even more simple. The stock shocks aren't very good, and are worse with lowering springs... much if not all the wheelhop will disappear from the lowering anyway--at least on street tires. I know because we have a GT and and a Shelby GT here, the GT hops the Shelby does not (and it has all stock arms, no brackets, etc. Both have great shocks (Koni Sports).

Thanx sam, i didnt know the gts shelbys had the pro kit. I knew they were lowerd but not with that. Yeah i know its wise to do the strut and springs together. I was looking at a eibach kit that has there struts and prokit. I just didnt wanna drop that much money all in one. Though i think i may any way just get a combo with the panhard. I have a feeling close to a 2" drop in the rear will kick the rear out. I may get the sportlines with koni str.t or the tokico HP. Both seems kind of entry level, but im not looking for race or autox the car. Its a DD, if i gain race car handling i wont complain. Im shooting more for looks with out taking shortcuts that could but me in a bad situation.

Correct me if im wrong but im sure ither of the 2 cheaper sturts i listed with a lowering spring would be better than the stock struts... Right?

The Eibach dampers suck, trust me on that one.....

I put together a package of whatever you want to go for (or help you decide what you need), if you want some help--it's what I do.

Thanx, well I'd like to stay under 500 for a spring/damper set up. It's seems the sportline and pro kits are close in price. Just finding a decent inexpensive damper is where I'm at. Any recomendations?

Here is a pic of my former 06' GT on a FRPP Handling kit with stock 17",18" and 20" wheels. They were Eibach lowering springs and dampners(they sucked) in the kit.It handled very well but the taller the rim the stiffer the ride.

Black3vgt: looks great man. Do you have any closer pictures of the wheel gaps? I like the front drop of the prokit but i think my over 3" wheel gap in the back wont be enough to get a close to equal gap front and back.
