lightweight wheels...again
I ordered another Steeda ultralight today due to curb rash. Cant seem to stay off the curbs (I like to drive around corners fast lol) and the reason I hate to pay more than ~$2-250 per wheel. I purchase the steedas via american muscles discount code for $250 shipped (3-day shipping). It's hard to beat for a good looking, 18x9.5'', big brake clearing wheel. I noticed the packing today and the shipping weight was 30.5 lbs. That cannot be correct for the rim alone but if it is, that's no lightweight wheel!! I plan to put it on the scale since its the first bare rim (sans tire) I've purchased.
Any other viable options in the $2-250/wheel price range (18x9.5+ size)? There can't be very many...

Yeah...wheels and tires have become somewhat of a "consumable" to me. I'll probably spring for a lightweight set but rashing a set of $500+ wheels would kill me...asking for something light (er) weight in a 18x9+ size under $250/ea is laughable. The steedas may be my best bet.
I may look over the ultralite one's (version one). They're supposedly 23lbs ea in the 18x9.5 size AND approximately $250/ea. I could cut another few lbs per wheel that way for the same expenditure. Or start examining tire weights. It's even harder to find size/weight data on tires....
