Wheels for the track
#131
My Enkei PF01s arrived with aluminum hub rings but I suspect the the retailer installed them.
Don't even think about plastic if you are going to track the car. My fronts get so hot, even with brake cooling, that the centers caps are "wrinkling".
I'm really happy with mine.

Hey guys!
Been out for some time...licking wounds from several bits of life's nastiness.
RDK, which wheels, the ones still on my car or the ones the f'n bastards stole from me? The wheels I had before they also stole my welder, or after cracking up the right rear quarter in the rain? Or maybe the ones I had on when I set a personal best at ACC-South with a smashed out rear window?
See. Life.
What I've got:
Rota G-force, 18x9" +30mm offset.
What I had:
Enkei PF01, 18x9.5" +35mm offset.
Both clear my Stoptech ST40 calipers w/14" rotors, and both clear SGDave's Brembos.
What I recently picked up:
Enkei NT03+M, 18x9.5" +40mm offset.
These don't safely clear the ST40 calipers on their own. Technically they "clear," but with only 0.5mm clearance (Stoptech recommends 2mm clearance), and that won't do once things get warmed up. So I need to run a very thin spacer. I may end up using these for street/rain wheels, but we'll see.
FWIW, the Enkei wheels are sickly light for the money. My PF01s were 20 lbs, the NT03+Ms are 19.5 lbs, and the RPF-1s come in a hair under that even when stretched to a full 10" wide. I've got my eyes on the later for another set of track wheels (after I train a small poisonous asp to make its home under my tire rack).
Best,
-j

I had ASA AR1s on my car, 18x9 et45 all the way around from Steeda. They looked good but required a 5mm spacer to clear the front calipers so they really limited me in regards to brake upgrades. Pads, ducts and braided lines only go so far at some tracks so it was time for a change.
I picked up these Motegi MR116s in 18x9 et45 this weekend and had my tires swapped (275/45-18s). There is significantly more room behind these wheels but I have yet to even print out templates to start measuring what might fit.

Hey, while this thread is back in play, anyone taken a look at the new TSW Nurburgring wheel? I saw it advertised in Grassroots Motorsports and looked into it more.
$250 bucks for the 18 x 9.5, and the claimed weight is 21 lbs. If this wheel clears the Brembos, this could be a decent track wheel. Comes in matte gunmetal, matte bronze, or machined aluminum.
