Default Pulls to the right

Hey,

Today i purchased a set of new tires. After getting them installed i went to ford to do my alignment. My car is pulling to the right as it always has been.

About a year ago i got my alignment redone after i slammed into a crub and ever since then it was pulling to the right. I talked to my service advisor the next day and he put it up again and said that the alignment was fine. It still pulled to the right.

Now a year later (after getting new tires and alignment) my car is still pulling to the right. I feel like they are not doing the job right.

What should i do?

P.S. I know my alignment has been off not only because the pull to the right but because my old tires (that i replaced today) had more wear on the inside (atleast the drivers side front tire).

Also the only thing that i broke after hitting the curb last year was my rear strut bar and that was fixed.

So i went to NTB to get the alignment specs. here they are:

Front Left

Camber: -1.0
Toe: -.20

Front Right
Camber: -.9
Toe: -.02

Rear Left
Camber: -.3
Toe: -.17

Rear Right
Camber: -.1
Toe: -.03

Front:
Cross Camber: -.1
Total Toe: -.18

Rear:
Cross Camber: -.4
Total Toe: -.4
Thrust Angle: -.1

For some reason they said that the caster wouldn't print or show up or something. I dont know what they ment.

Keep in mind that i got my alignment today.
What should i do?

Is the alignment the problem?

Should i get a refund from ford and go to NTB?

Or should i have ford look into the problem more(maybe something is bent)?

Your inside tire is wearing unevenly due to the camber adjustment. Mine wear a bit unevenly as well because I purposely run 1.0-1.2 negative camber on the street. Your toe settings also look incorrect and caster will have an effect on pull to the right. Seeing your caster settings will shed some light on whether your front strut is bent or some other damage up there. You could also have a bent inner/outer tie-rod from smacking the curb though it sounds like your rear took the brunt of the impact if the rear shock broke.

Well after spending 3 hours at ford yesterday they have still not came to a solution on my car. They say the alignment specs are perfect and it must be something else. Here are there alignment specs from ford.

Front Left

Camber: -1.0
Caster: 7.4
Toe: .04

Front Right

Camber: -1.3
Caster: 6.9
Toe: .02

They said that the alignment is fine. They said that each and every one of the specs are in the required range. So what is making my car pull to the right and wear unevenly?

The camber being .3 high on the right? and the caster being .4 higher on the left?

My caster was 6.1/6.5 before setting toe during my last alignment and they said even that small of an offset would cause wander to one side or the other. Is it pulling hard to the right or just slowly wandering that way? You're obviously lowered. Are you running camber plates so you can correct the camber offset?

My car is just drifting to the right. It isnt pulling hard but it isnt just drifting slowly either. At highway speeds it takes around 5 seconds to be half way in the next lane. and then the pull to the right just increases. Now when i am going straight and i brake the car will start to pull right. Which leads me to believe that my alignment is NOT correct.

My car isn't lowered.

I dont have camber plates either. Ford said they would be willing to put holes in my control arm to get everything perfect.

So what do yall think?

So i guess that the caster is off by .5 which is causing me to pull to the right. After reading about caster the side with the least amount of positive caster is the side your car will pull to, which is the experience i am having. Correct?

So should i worry about my camber?

I wouldn't worry as much about your camber. I'm purposely running about 1-1.2 myself and just deal with slightly increased wear on the inside tire. If you want to adjust it perfectly you can purchase some camber plates (steeda HD, etc). Sounds like your caster is the problem to me. You may have bent a strut up front as well when you hit the curb which will throw your caster off.

I'm not going to scold you for smacking a curb because I've been known to do that myself. I hit one so hard the rim bent and my car flew up onto the neutral ground. When I was first tweaking my suspension and dialed in completely neutral handling both my front AND rear tires broke loose at exactly the same time...sent me into a full powerslide sideways over a curb. Fortunately nothing was broken and a realignment corrected it. I thought for sure a tie-rod or strut was bent...
