Default Can I say goodbye?

I think that this is, by far, the best S197 handling forum on the net.

You have track guys and engineer guys, and very good sponsors who offer an incredible amount of good information.

After 3 years of doing HPDEs and NASA Time Trials with my '07 Mustang, I found a CMC2 1998 Camaro that I couldn't pass up.

So again, I appreciate all of you, I hope that the mods will not delete the thread, and I will always bleed Ford blue!

Sorry to hear that, Wayne, but congrats on the new purchase and have fun with it. You can still check in once in a while and I'm guessing you'll still be around cc.com.

That's my cell phone picture when it was for sale at the NASA event at Motorsports Ranch Cresson near Fort Worth.

Professionally built by Performance Speedtech located at the track and I just couldn't pass it up. Of course I'm also a sucker for white cars and BBS wheels, and the headlight stickers didn't hurt.

(BTW, did I really post #83 in my semi-signature above? Mrs. HoustonNW wants me to keep the car number because it's our anniversary year, and I typed 83? Yikes!)

Corporate internet filter won't let me see the pic, so I'll have to check later. In addition to C-C.com, stop by FRRAX.com if you haven't already; you'll likely see a few familiar names.

Wayne - does that car have the LS1 in it? Beastly motors. I'm very familiar with them now due to my Corvette. Easy to get 400+ RWP with some good heads and long tubes.

That is a nice car, doesnt really matter what is under the hood! The Chevy vs Ford BS is for the street wanna be's and drag racers! You will have a blast with that thing! I am seriously considering doing the same thing, purchasing a completed car instead of building one. It is so much faster and almost cheaper in the long run.

Yes, it does have an LS1. I think the restrictor plate is about 1" in diameter to get down to 262rwhp for CMC2.

The S197 3V motor is almost perfect for the class at what, 265rwhp stock?
