Default 285 on 18x9 rim question

I've found a couple of threads were it seems to run a 285/40-18 tire on a 18x9 rim should be ok. But as far as any rubbing issues, will there be any with a 40 offset and Eibach Pro-Kit springs?

And as far as the Goodyear F1's that come on the GT500, are those tires ok in the wet?

Thanks

I really would not go any wider than 275/40 on 9.0" wide wheels.

285/40 really belongs on wheels from 9.5" to 11" wide, and being 1/2" under the minimum is generally worse than being 1/2" over the max.

Which F1's? There are several tires with "F1" as part of the name, and the Eagle F1 Supercars even come in two different treadwear ratings (220 and 180).

Check them out at tirerack.com (site sponsor).

Thanks Norm. I was looking at the 220 (the ones on Tirerack). I have PZeroes on my 17's right now and they' seem pretty grippy on dry and wet pavement . But the cost of a 255/45-18 PZero is a little bit more than what I want to pay.
