here is the Bullitt spring vs. the new springs

the Bullitt springs ride about 3/8" lower than normal GT springs...and these new springs dropped my car over 1" out back. I got almost 1.25" of total drop in the rear.

I am looking at this set up just for the shocks, struts and sway bar, I already have the Roush Stage 2 Lowering springs that have been on the car for about three years, any opinions on weather or not the springs I have are better than the ones that come with the kit.

Something is really odd here.

First, that's not a Ford Racing rear bar. Second I don't know of a set of Ford Racing springs that are .5-1". There are 1" and about 1.5" drops, and FRPP springs (and bars) are light blue like the color of the dampers.

And that takes me to the dampers.... They sort of look like FR3 dampers, and might be. But they aren't all that great. Notice how the rear shocks are compressed? That's because they aren't gas charged. The gas charge keeps the oil from foaming and makes the shock work better when it's in use because foamed oil doesn't damp all the well and makes life really hard on the seals. And the other thing is there are a lot of aftermarket dampers with better valving and a lifetime warranty.

This kit is being sold on price, like a lot of stuff you find at Wal-Mart. That might make a lot of folks happy, but frankly you can do better. There are some strange things with the claim that this is a Ford Racing kit, I don't see how they make that claim.

Actually it is because they are still screwed together. You turn the shaft a few turns and they expand all on their own...gas charged.

I stand corrected.... They are indeed gas charged. It had been a while since I had a set in my hands (March 2007). I just dug them out of the "original" Shelby parts box and they are. Slow to return, but they do extend on their own. I guess almost 4 years and the slow to extend nature mislead me.

My bad.

By these you mean the CDC set? Then yes. They aren't race suspension but makes a great performance orientated street setup especially if you have 20" wheels. They only lower the car one inch which was perfect for what I wanted. Putting just the rear bar on with the larger rear tires gives the car a very nice balanced feel where it finishes corners with the power applied very nicely. If you have SC it might oversteer too easily and a heavier front bar might be in order.

So if this setup is mainly for 20" wheels what will it do for 18's?

no difference between 18" or 20".

it will work well with any rim on the mustang. the overal diameter is what you are worried about. most mustangs run about a 27" wheel. so as long as your tires are close, it will look just fine.

I am running a 26.5" wheel (275/40/18) and you can't eyeball that difference IMO
