As an update to my quest for brakes - I ran across a 2009 GT500 with **very low miles** that was is being upgraded to a Super Snake. As it was trailered back & forth, it's seen under 100 miles. I am going with the GT500 brakes (calipers, rotors, new steel lines), sway bars, springs, shocks/struts, wheels & tires, and all the associated parts for the running gear.

The price was right and I can afford essentially a Big Bang upgrade to the rolling chasis. I will get pictures & updates as I make progress.

Waid! That sounds pretty awesome! I know folks who use the Brembo brakes, and they are very happy.

Looking forward to the pics when they're in.

Best,

Here is a close-up of the upgraded front brake system with the new wheels & tires (well, new take-offs).

Here is a shot of the SVT NTO wheel from a GT-500 getting a Super Snake upgrade.

Do NOT buy the Hawk HP+. They will SQUEEEEEEEAAAAL you sanity away like they're doing to me right now. They do stop in a heartbeat, though.

I should have heeded the warnings about using track pads on the street.

I just installed EBC 3GD rotors with EBC Red Stuff pads and so far so good. good bite at all temps, haven't really gotten on them yet but they have to have less fade than the crappy stock brakes.

noise wise they're nice and quiet, no squeaking when cold or hot. the only noise is from the rotors which they said would happen. there's a little bit of wind noise but you only hear it with the windows down when you're next to a wall or something.

these also dust less than stock which will be nice.
