Default Need opinion on 235/50/18 Replacements

Its about that time again to get replacement tires for my stang. I have kept the stock 235/50/18s. When I first replaced them I paid $450 for a set of BFG with everything out the door. I have called for a few quotes today and am being told for the same tired "BFG" 800+. I am curious if anyone knows of any other good brand that can handle like the BFGs. I am thinking about getting Nittos. I am just researching and nothing is set in stone. Other tires I have considered are Yoko. , Kumho , Pirelli , Nitto. I am looking for something reasonable and not quite 800 bucks. I was quote in the 600 range for the nittos.

Nittos are good. My buddy has the NT555's on his '07 GT. They hook very well. FAR better than the stock BFG tires.

I bought Direzza Star Specs in 245/45/18 and loved them. The amount of grip comparing to stockers is just unbelievable.

Actually, I'll be posting my tires for sale (around half thread left), if you're interested. I'd never do that but I'm switching to GT500 brakes and had to get rid of the stock 8.5' rims.

Take a look at the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires in the 255/45/18 size. They fit my 18 x 8.5" factory wheels perfectly. The Tire Rack has good prices on them...

HTH!

Seconded. 255/45/18 all around. Tire Rack sells the 220 wear set for $130 a tire.
Plus tire diameter remains within 1/4" of stock.

Cheers.
