Default brake pad rubbing

I have the Baer Extreme Plus kit and had to replace the front rotors. I took the calipers off and hung them with bungee cords so I didnt have to take the brake lines off. I installed the new rotors but now the pads slightly rub on the rotors. It's not hard to turn the wheel but if I rotate the wheel it stops before it makes a whole turn. Will this self correct after I drive it a bit or do I need to bleed them a bit?

Your pads will always rest on the rotors when the pistons are extended. You shouldn't be able to spin the front wheel freely...there should be a small amount of friction. It sounds fine to me...drive it.

Why did you have to replace your rotors?

New rotors are thicker than old ones... did you compress the pistons in the caliper before slipping them back on????

I replaced them because believe it or not they were slightly warped. They are two piece rotors so I kept the hats and replaced the rotors. Yes I compressed the pistons by using two C-clamps and pushing the pistons back in. They wouldnt fit on before trying this. I was able to get them on but there is a slight rub.

Wow - you are the 2nd guy in the last few months who has reported warping those Baer rotors.
