Question 2010 GT500 Shocks/Struts with Eibach Pro-Kits - Clunk

Everything was fine and dandy til I noticed that going over SOME bumps (not all) gave me a slight clunky clunk clunk. I can't really distinguish if it's from the rear or the front. This happens at low speeds (20 mph?) going over SOME bumps, and a bigger clunk at highway speeds going over some bad roads.

Any ideas? Upper strut mounts? Ehh.. maybe? Bump stops? I haven't cut the bump stops.. but I honestly don't think it's bottoming out and hitting the bump stops.

BTW, I love the look of the car on pro-kits, I love the handling, and the overall feel is a little bumpier, but nothing that I can't live with. I also know that it's not the best setup in terms of compatibility (thanks Sam Strano for making that list) but I got a great deal on the shocks/struts and had the springs sitting around for almost 2 years.

I just had that happen with my 2005 GT after springs/shocks install. There is a huge thread in the main section about this too.

My problem, like many, was the upper nut coming loose that attaches the approx 12 inch rod end of the front sway bar. It was a bolt you had to hold in place with a wrench and tighten the nut

Do a search in the main section for the clunking noise. There are more knowledgable people in there that use the correct terms for the parts in question if your confused.

Unfortunately, I don't even have a front sway bar =\ Thanks for chiming in though!

No problem. As stated above, check the thread in the main 2005-2011 section if you already haven't. Search "2007 Front Suspension Thunking Noise". There is way too much there to read the entire thing though. There were several people posting with other solutions to the low speed clunking noise.

Good luck
