Default What do I need strut mounts?

I have a 2011 v6 base. I know when replacing the front strut mounts I need 2005-2010 versions. I was looking at the gt500 models but also thinking about just getting the steeda hd mounts. In order for the steed mounts to work do I have to by the whole gt500 mounts too? Can I buy just the ford part I need without the whole mount?

You didn't say why you're replacing the front strut mounts, but if you must for some reason (as opposed to just using what you have) then you have two alternatives:

1. buy OEM Ford mounts and use them as they are (the FRPP GT500 ones for instance), or

2. buy the Steeda's plus a set of OEM mounts because the Steeda's need the rubber isolators off the OEM mounts.

The Ford parts website does not show the rubber isolator as being available separately, so a dealer could tell you for sure, but it looks to me like you're going to have to buy OEM 2010 mounts in either case.

Or you can just remove and re-use the rubber isolator from your current strut mounts on the Steeda parts.

I'm going to buy a se of the koni str.t shocks and a set of steeda sport springs so I want to make sure I have the right parts before I start . I'll check with the dealer too see if the spring piece can be bought separate if not I may try just the gt500 mounts since it's just a street car primarily

I think you do need to use 2010 and earlier isolators. The rubber isolator is different on the 2011's and won't fit with the Steeda mounts.

2011 on left, 2010 on right.

And yes, when I did it, I had to buy two whole mount assemblies to get those spacers. Either that, try a salvage yard or online.

Thanks. It appears people are getting that popping noise from both mounts so I'll try the gt500 ones first. It's a street car that may see a few autocross events just for fun.
