Default GT Front rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads installed

Hey guys well my stock front rotors were pretty much worn out, they had hot spots, were slightly warped, and just straight up sucked. Ordered the GT rotor upgrade kit from AM along with Hawk HPS pads. Overall you won't notice much of a difference in size (V6- 11.5 inches/ GT- 12.4 inches) but what a hell of a difference performance wise. I am not sure if its the pads that have made the difference or the .9 inch bigger rotor. Overall I love them, smooth braking although a tad bit dusty but that doesn't bother me. Plan on replacing the rears with OEM replacements and going with Hawk HPS pads again, considering stainless steel brake lines aswell. Overall I am happy with them and find myself stopping short at red lights/stops with the same amount of braking pressure I have used for years. You can really tell a difference when you press them hard! Also on a side note I noticed Ford now coats where the wheel hub comes in contact and the outer perimeter of the rotor with some form of paint to prevent them from rusting! Here are some crappy cell phone pics, sorry need to invest in a camera!

Before

After (notice you can't see the dust shield anymore)

And of course one pad came with the clip popped off (its a Hawk thing) and one popped off during installation, doesn't seem to affect anything.

Very nice. I'd think its the combination of both the longer moment arm of the larger rotor and the HPS pad compound that improved your braking. Enjoy!

Lol that looks like some track action! I have the same wheels and noticed they are a tad bit dusty but its a trade-off!

I actually liked the way they looked when they were all dusty, gave them a nice shade of gray to go with the car, lol.

New wheels, stepped up to HP+'s next time out. (Still need more pad as I was getting faster)

1st time out for the day, nice chrome wheels.

Later in the day, brown wheels!

First front pad change on my 08 GT at 50,000, I had Ford turn the front rotors and installed the Hawk pads. I hate em. More dust than ever before. Longer stopping distances. Maybe in your case it was the larger rotor. I won't use Hawk again. And yes, I did follow there new install seating procedure.
