Default Panhard Rod Issue??

My 08 GT came with the factory 17" rims. I changed to 20". Now the drivers side tire exceeds the wheel well by 1/2", while the passenger side is dead even. As though the rear was not centered. Nothing damaged in the rear suspension. The car is now slightly raked in the rear. Would this throw off the geometry of the rear suspension/panhard rod, and cause this to occur. The factory rims were perfectly even, or so it seemed.

Has the car been lowered?

Changing wheel/tire size wouldn't do anything to change suspension geometry. I would hazard a guess that the offset was there before the wheel change, but it just wasn't noticeable since both tires tucked inside the wells. An adjustable panhard will fix that. The rake is probably attributed to differing tire thickness if you are running different sizes.

I would have to agree with Parchisi. The unevenness was always there. It's just noticable now.

An adjustable Panhard like the one American Muscle offers would allow you to recenter the rear axle.

Actually Summit has an Edelbrock panhard rod with all the adjustments on the drivers side. Much easier to adjust.
