How do I know if the oil in my 2011 manual trans needs to be changed? Don't really have any shifting issues at the moment. Must be lucky! Just turned 9000 miles.

Ford says it's fill-for-life, so just keep on enjoying your car and change it at 30,000 miles.

Some came low on fluid.
Drained 1.5 quarts OEM oil out of mine
and the spec shows 1.9 quarts up to
the fill hole. So 1.9 quarts of AmsOil
went back into her.
Shifts ever so nicely now even in low temps.

According to the manual, IIRC, it says to change at 60K miles.

However, due to my concerns of occasional rough shifting, I had the dealership replace mine with a lighter viscosity oil as per the issued TSB on our Chinese made trannies
