Steering Modes Worthless?
On my 2012 GT I don't see the point with the steering modes. I was using sport when I bought the car but all it gives me is delayed turns. Sticking with comfort, what does everyone else use?
When I test drove a V6 Mustang, it made a LOT of difference. Sport was noticeably less assisted, and provided more feedback. Normal was what I expect from a typical Ford - and I was glad to get rid of THAT!
Remember the ratio remains constant - only the level of assistance changes.

I did not know you could change the steering mode for the first month I had my car. Every time I drove I thought the steering was way too loose feeling(no feedback). One day I scrolled through the options and was so happy after selecting sport mode, instantly felt like I was driving a different car.
I'm getting into the habit of activating Sport mode every time I start up my car. The steering feel is much better than the normal, overboosted steering. Ford should have made it standard on at least the Performance Package/Track Pack Mustangs.
You can't change the steering mode by itself on the '11 but when you go to sport mode it also changes the feel of the steering. I usually activate it most the time when driving around town. The power assist is decreased and you get more feed back from the road itself in sport mode.
The comfort setting feels a little too loose but its much more responsive in split second turns, at least thats how I feel. Sport just feels like it reacts to late for me to dodge something.
That's pretty much it.
There will be folks that need the extra effort to feel what theyre doing and other folks that like turning with a lot less effort.
It's not a right or wrong (though some folk egos require the word "sport" to feel adequate), it's just more or less force required to steer the car.
