Default Lowering my 05 v6

I just purchased the SR performance lowering springs for my car but i have heard different things about needing to buy new shocks and struts when lowering. Some people have told me i should buy new shock and struts while others say if you arent dropping below 2 inches then you dont need to buy them. Can somone confirm one of these?? Thanks!

You can run the OEM struts.
How many miles are on these 05 year model struts.
Are they original to the stang or have they been replaced?
Lowering will wear out the OEM dampeners faster than
struts/shocks designed for the lower ride height.

Does SR performance offer struts/shocks that are rate
matched to your lowering springs?
If so, you need them.
If you are just building a low speed ghetto cruiser for
looks only, then the OEMs that are on there are OK
for the job.
If you want a platform thats stable at high speeds,
then its matched or tunable struts/shocks for you.
Koni makes some nice adjustable dampeners.
Bout $499 retail for the set...

I also dont know of anyone dropping more than 2"s.
At a 3" drop, you would have maybe 1/4 of suspension
travel to absorb bumps.

And if you dont mind the bumpsteer
and excessive wearing of the inside
edges of you front tires, you might
comsider a bumpsteer kit and
caster/camber plates as well...

By "SR" performance I assume this is a new name for Stack Racing? Which means this is crap made in China. I have been noticing the "value priced" gear coming out of Malvern, P.A. lately has an emphasis leaning towards "SR Performance".
Anyways, I would get new shocks and struts, since you'll have it all apart anyways.
