Autocross Esp setup ( damping )
My current setup is a half put together. In its stage right now its more of a drift car than autox. I have a 07 gt w/ H&R SS springs , tokico hp rear stocks, and stock front struts. Other things down to the car are, JLT cold air, bama 93* tune, centerforged clutch, and flowmaster. Been autocrossing every month now for about 8 months and i'm hooked. Kinda got the noob out of me a little bit but can't get the car any faster. I'm running 3-5 secs behind the tops in my class just can't get any thing more out of the car. Front end wants to slide forward under hard turns (could still be my driving), tail end wants to fish tail even at the very end of the apex. Thing is When i first started thinking about and setting up the suspension, i was looking at the tokico d-specs for the front struts but seems everthing i have read koni it really looking smiles on peoples faces. With the autocrossing and the streets of new orleans to deal with i was thinking the koni yellows would do good but have been looking at the srt.t as well for the price. Are new strut mounts needed on the 05-09 s197 for the koni's and how well you think they will work with the tokico hp in the read? Now after i take care of the front struts i plan on going with Sam strano's sway bars http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=80&ModelID=5

Fellow Nola Autocross competitor here, I run the Kona Blue 5.0 in STX that usually does really well. Watching your videos from the last event there is time to be had in improved driving, getting closer to some of the cones and not over driving into corners as much. I'm always available to help out or offer advice during an event. My passenger seat is always open for ride alongs as well, or I can ride with you for some runs if you prefer. If you're looking to run Koni, I have a full set of Koni sports with steeda sport springs and steeda hd camber plates available for sale fully assembled. I ran them before the recent suspension upgrade and think they're a great starting point. Only about 8k miles and 12 events on them so plenty of life left.
Thanx for repling, last event i saw you came close to the lsu's little bad a** kart. You looked good out there. I will diffently take you up on the offer for a the ride alone. Alfrad rode with me and then me in his car, he gave me some good pointers that helped alot but to ride alone with a car damn near mine would be great. Having a hard time with braking a little, first thought still to soft brake around turn and second thought hard brake before. First heat always reminds me what i'm doing wrong. Alfard also drove my car to and said the rear end wants to fish tail way to easy. Whast a good way to plant the rear better in the turns. He was saying that sway bars may help that.
I have been reading every where that the s197s are doing good with the steeda springs with the koni dampers. i Guess really hate to lose the h&r springs. love the way the car sets and read then do good when damped. Thanx for the offer tho. Just don't know if the tokico hp stocks in the rear going to hurt when i put the koni yellows , but they are ridged. What struts mounts you use? keep reading mixed things from the gt mounts, gt500 to steeda.

I really liked the steeda hd mounts when i had them, Im running the Vorshlag plates currently. The steeda are good if its primarily a street car cause you can still get around -1.6 / -1.7 camber which with toe around zero it wont eat tires on the street. Im only asking $600 for everything which is front and rear parts, if you want to keep the h&r springs could just swap them for the steedas and get some of your money back selling the steedas.
If the rear is really loose everytime you try to get into the throttle you're probably getting into the rear bumpstops which adds tons of spring rate making the car loose. Another possiblity is the throttle is to sensitive with the tune, which isnt unheard of with bama tunes. May want to see if they can make the throttle map more progressive which will help.
