I am not 100% sure on this but at least with the 2013's I have heard if you use GT500 strut mounts the bolts do not fit. Could it be the case with with the 01, that or maybe the tech does not know enough about Mustangs?

Here's a diagram that shows how the camber bolt cam and washer works together to offset the strut relative to the knuckle.

the camber bolt goes at the bottom of the strut where it attached to the knuckle, not the top where the strut mount is.

I see two possibilities here.

One, as you suggest, is that the tech really doesn't know how to work with those bolts or is unwilling to spend the extra time to do it. That's the guy you should run (not walk) away from. Not particularly because he might not know about the bolts, but because of what other simple stuff he doesn't understand or is unwilling to put any time into doing right.

On the other hand, he may actively not want to have anything to do with them and is trying to discourage them from being used without being quite as blunt about it as some of us here tend to be. Technicians like this may be getting hard to find.

I think the guy did you a favor by A) claiming they won't fit because now you have to wonder what he knows that makes him think that. B) didn't install them because of item A.

And yeah, I don't get why people get think they have to adjust something that's adjustable all the time. LOTS of things can be adjusted in your everyday life. Do you mess with the color settings on you TV every 2 minutes??? Why not? If you get the car tuned, when you find what you like do you keep playing with it? Probably not.

Update: Bolts are installed, alignment is spot on.

The shop called Eibach, who explained how they worked. The tech said he had never worked with aftermarket camber bolts. The way the aftermarket bolts are adjusted is different than how the stock bolts adjust. Needless to say, the whole process made me a little uncomfortable, but since I had already paid for an alignment there I wanted to give them a second shot to get it right before taking it somewhere else.

That being said, the new setup is AWESOME! The floatiness of the stock Brembo setup is gone, and the whole car feels way more planted even in everyday driving. Even my gf mentioned that the car felt better. As an added bonus, the car looks great. I was worried it might be a little too slammed in front but it is near perfect. Plus, my car previously had a horrible case of wheel hop. That is all gone now, tires just spin if I get to aggressive with the throttle. Pics coming soon.
