Noise after suspension install
Hi guys. I have been trolling the forum for a few months but never really post. Last week I had the following installed: Koni Sports, Steeda Sport springs and HD strut mounts, and J&M adjustable aluminum panhard bar. Koni's are set on full firm temporarily.
Any movement in the suspension results in a squeezing rear. Even just getting in and out of the car. I first assumed this was from panhard bar bushings, but I seem to hear noise of the suspension "working." Is this normal? It sounds like everything needs lubed.

I'm surprised you can drive them at full firm. I set mine at a quarter turn for a three hour drive and was hating life. I imagine the noise you're getting is being transmitted through the suspension and may not be anything to worry about. If it continues and gets worse, make sure you double check the torque settings on all the parts you just installed, they can come loose after a break-in period.

After putting the Koni's back to softest setting and retightening, the incessant squeeking is still present. It sounds as if it is originating in the driver side rear.
I have to think its coming from the panhard bar bushings. I'll remove, regrease, and reinstall to find out if that cures the problem.

There's a lot of talk recently it seems (or I've just found that talk) about LCA's being the cause of animal-like squeaking and chirping sounds. Is that sort of what you hear? Like there's animals in the back seat?
Though this problem usually seems to happen when the LCA's are under heavy load (bumpy roads/high speeds or both), not just getting in and out of the car.
Grease everything up but I would point to LCA's being the cause of the problem. Or some bolts not torqued to spec correctly.

Did you torque the LCA bolts with the suspension fully loaded? If not, put the car on jack stands at the rocker panels, loosen the LCA bolts, lift the axle at the pumpkin until the shocks are compressed to a fully loaded position (as though the car was on the ground), then torque the LCA bolts to 129 ft/lbs. That should take care of any squeaking that might have been caused by the LCA.
You might as well loosen and re-torque the PH bar while the car is still under load; you're there anyway.
