Creaking Front Suspension?
Moved this from the general forum
Hi all, New member. I recently bought a beautiful mineral grey, black leather 2005 V6 owned by a little old lady who used it to go to church on Sundays. Seriously! She was 92, deceased estate: it has only done 9,000 miles, and is like new - the buy of the decade for me, but here is the thing, the front suspension creaks when I brake.
I can't replicate the noise when out of the car with the hood open or closed and pressing down on the front or side fenders.
Inside it creaks quite readily when braking and the front dips even a little, especially when stopping at a traffic light or I pump the brake. Could it be the master cylinder?
Hard to define where it is coming from seems from the front on both sides but if anything a little louder on the drivers side. The car was used so little over the last 9 years (but serviced regularly) that maybe something has dried out. Any suggestions?

It's something with the control arm bushings my 2013 had the issue. Something Ford has never bothered to change on the car but they have the TSB out so if it bugs you, you can get it fixed...... Don't make sense but ya...
Also having read the TSB the two related to suspension (below). the first is clunking which this is not and the second refers to possible creaking over potholes or bumps and yet this is silent on those yet creaks on a smooth road when braking even gently. As I can't replicate the noise stationary it makes me think it is related to the brakes, cylinder or calipers somehow.

Some 2005-2007 Mustang coupes equipped with 4.0L or 4.6L (excludes GT500 and convertibles) may exhibit a "loose lumber", rattle, or chuckle sound from the front end over bumps and rough roads.

Issue
Some 2005-2010 Mustang 4.0L/4.6L, 2007-2010 Mustang Shelby GT500 vehicles built on or before 8/3/2009 may exhibit a grunt/creak/squeak/chirp noise from the lower control arm hydro bushing. The grunt/creak noise may occur over large vertical bumps like speed bumps and pot holes. The squeak/chirp noise may occur over bumps rough roads, and driveway approaches.
Hmmm yeah not sure they might not do it since its older....... BUT yes its that hydro bushing that was the word I was looking for!
Even after mine was fixed it started doing it after 6 months lol.... And now I have all aftermarket suspension and it creeks and makes all kinds of noises so..... I just turn the music up and then I don't hear it....

Just another suggestion, but it could be the brake pads. If they are not "bedded in" correctly they will make chatter and creaking like you are describing. Also, with the age of the car and being "grannied" it could just need brakes re-done.
Try this. Find a speed bump, a short one, not one of those 3 foot wide types, and drive over it. You can do this at slow speeds. The objective is to flex the front suspension up and down a lot. Drive over it with your foot off the brake. If the suspension creaks or makes the noise then you have a problem related to the TSB. If no sound then it is brake related.
There is a similar TSB for the 11-13 models for the front control arm bushing. Mine was very noticeable when driving over speed bumps, and I got it fixed. I probably would still have the same issue if I didn't have to drive over speed bumps regularly.
