I find this hard to believe. I also used to DD my stang and went through 2 sets of tires running -1.5 and the wear on the inside of the tires, even with religious rotating front to back, was extremely apparent. I even backed down to -1.2 and you can still tell the tires wear faster on the inside.
I'll assume you're not questioning my integrity. I think this comes down to HOW you drive. Pushing your car in the corners will cause more wear across the tread surface. On the contrary, if you NEVER push your car in the corners, then you're right, ANY negative camber will wear the tires on the inside.
With a 'factory' alignment, I would get significantly greater wear on the outside edges of the tires, even rotating regularly.
With -1.8º (which is what I'm also currently running), I get pretty even wear on the street, but I still see a bit more outside tire wear on my AutoX tires.
That being said, I'll be pushing it up to the -2.5-3.0º range this spring for AutoX, which will probably end up with more inside tire wear for my street tires, but that's a compromise I'm going to try out this year.
Almost anybody should be able to live with Ford's preferred camber setting of -0.75°. Only the gentlest driver (gentle? in a Mustang???) driving only on the Interstates should legitimately need less than that.
Installed a set of Koni STR.Ts with GT500 mounts and a set of Eibach Sportlines. I'm definitely satisfied with the look, but i hope they're not too low. Just need to adjust the new panhard bar and get the car aligned still. Took a quick cruise around town, car seems to ride well maybe even better than stock, just seems smooth. I guess I'll find out more during my normal commute.
