Have any of you used these tires on your stang? I am in the process of looking for new tires and have been considering them. After the OEM Pirelli's I put on Nitto 555's and got about 30K out of them but I had all 4 the same and rotated every 6000 miles. I have 1 bad rim so I am going staggered this time and will not be able to rotate. I am concerned more with the fronts than the back, Just a V6 so no burning rubber! Tire Rack has pretty good deal on them right now. Thanks in advance.

Can't you source just one wheel to replace that bad one?

If you're committed to getting either two or four new wheels, what width(s)?

FWIW, that 255/45 front tire stands slightly taller than your 275/40 rear tire choice. May or may not be enough to notice, but either 245/45 with 275/40 or 285/40 with 255/45 would be better matches. The '07 - '09 GT500 came with 255/45-18 and 285/40-18 as the OE front & rear sizes . . .

I had what was probably the previous generation BFG tire in that line (g-Force Sport) on a different front engine/RWD car. Not a bad tire in moderate street driving, with decent enough grip when either accelerating or braking, or cornering (separately from the other two). Not so good about taking power while still cornering and definitely not good as an autocross tire.

As for the tire sizes I was just going off the AM website from their tire packages for Staggered. I will check into your sizes to see what is a better match and what I can get as tires. For the rim, it is having a issue with the chrome coming off right at the valve stem and it will not hold air for more than a couple of weeks. When I called AM about a replacement they advised on getting 2 because they could not guarantee match on the finish. I then decided to just go the staggered look. Always liked that look and this gave me the opportunity to do it. Thanks for the info!

The 275's are a smaller diameter than the 255's. If you want to keep the same tire height go with 285's, like the GT500. That's the setup I currently have. I previously had the 275's and it bothered me how empty the rear wheel well looked.

I did a bit more research on my lunch break and I have decided to do the 255/45-18 up front and the 285/40-18 in the rear. I have narrowed the search on mfg's that make the combination of these to about a half dozen but only about 3 are in my price range: Good Year Eagle F1 Supercar, Nitto NT555's & Continental Extreme Contact DW. Opinions on which ones to buy? I am leaning towards the Nitto's

I have Nitto NT555 on my car now. Love them.

I used to be a huge BFG G-force Sport Comp (2) fan and just chalked up their crappy wet traction to them being a summer tire. That was wrong... After having both Dunlop Dirreza DZ101 tires and now the Nitto NT555 on my car, I will never go back to the BFG equivalents. Both the Dunlops and Nittos communicate better at their traction limits in wet weather. the BFG would be black or white. Very unnerving when making wide sweeping turns or driving on the freeway/highway.

I have the Nitto Invo's on mine and love them...I don't drive it in the rain so don't know about wet traction but all the reviews on them were good, but they hook up real nice on dry roads and one of the quietest tires I've had.

From all the research I have done and from the past experience of the Nitto 555's that I have had I am 99% sure I am going to stay with them. Just debating on the older 555's vs the G2's. I have been exceptionally happy with grip, handling and tread wear with the Nittos

I'm going with Nitto NT05's for my new setup. Same size front and rear. 295/35R18 The understeer from the staggered setup is really annoying on the track.

If I wanted a little wider tire for the rear, Recommended is 255/45-18 front and 285/40-18 rear. What would be the size. I just want a bit fatter not taller, A bit taller would be OK to me.
