Default Rear Bump Stop

What would cause one side to chew up like this? 08 GT Vogtland lowering springs and Koni STR shocks

The springs lowered the car and the bump stop is slamming into the body.

You need to replace them with new ones and cut 1" off the top.

Is the other side's bump stop damaged at all? If not, either your axle isn't accurately centered or the bump stop was defective to begin with (not too likely, but possible).

Which side of the car are you showing?

How long/how many miles on your Vogtland/STR.t setup? I'm not at all convinced that the STR.t is up to controlling the Vogtland's rear spring rate.

Its the drivers side. The passenger side bump stop is fully intact. 40,000 miles on that setup. I'm leaning toward the STR.t shocks also. They have this "dead feel" to them over road ripples. I was thinking a set of KYB monotubes. Not understanding an axle off center eating up a bump stop though?

The bump stop might not be getting hit squarely at its center point, which means that contact would try to tear it as well as compress it.

Got it! I ran a plumb line from each fender and measured from the rim lip to the line, and its dam near exact. I know you like the Koni yellows. Any other suggestions?

Bilsteins are a good choice if adjustability is not too important to you. Some people are adamant that a monotube design is inherently better than a twin-tube design, but adjustability does have its advantages.
