Default Correct wheel choice for a 2007 V6 Convertible

Looking to make a few minor changes to my 2007 V6 convertible I inherited from my dad. Looking to change up the wheels a little and figured I would go to 17's from the factory 16's. I really like the American Racing AR105M TORQ THRUST M (http://www.americanracing.com/wheel/...-torq-thrust-m) so I called around to a couple local installers because I'll need new tires as well and I've gotten two different answers. Dealer A said all his supplier had in stock was the 17 x 9 and that he didn't recommend those because they would require a spacer to mount up. When I contacted Dealer 2 (who AR lists as a preferred dealer) I gave him the part numbers for the 17 x 7.5 and 17 x 8, he came back and said the only guaranteed fitment was the 17 x 9. One of them is obviously wrong, question is which one.

Anyone out there have suggestions or know for sure which would work ?

nice wheels.
The guys at Tirerack.com can answer your questions via email. They helped me when I wasn't sure my tires would fit my new wheels....

17 x 9 with +45 offset should work. The 17 x 8 GT wheels were +45 offset, as were the GT500 wheels from the same year (in 18 x 9.5) as OE fitments.

+24 offset wheels in any diameter or width would be for the Fox/SN95/New Edge years.

I know people insist on shoving relatively narrow wheels out to the edge of the sheetmetal, but it seems like a waste of space (on the inside) that would be better used for wider wheels and tires. Ford gave us the room this time around, kind of a shame to not use it.
