New Rear Shocks Installed

New Rear Shocks Installed
Just providing some pictures.
Some info: The new shocks upper mounts were larger in diameter, and use
larger nuts. The nuts are separate from the upper mount dome, and are 15mm
-vs- 13mm OE nut.
The bottom shock bushings are larger on the new ones.
This was EASY, and so where the LCA installs. Ford using those nuts with the
built in stops is a life saver!

They were supposed to be AST, but the label said "Maxorber". I contacted
the people and said, the picture shows AST shocks, and I got these (attached
pictures), and they sent a partial refund. They still work great, and were only
$24.39, and I got $7.00 back. They are now relisted for $38.36, and still
show AST in the pictures. They claim the ones I got are made by the same
company that makes the AST shocks.

The ones up front for the strut to knuckle fasteners aren't quite strong enough, though. They will bend over if you don't grab the nut with another socket on a breaker bar.

They will do that if the threads are rusted, that is where the resistance is.
Clean threads, that would not happen, no matter how tight the bolt is, as
long as the threads are clean, it won't put more torque on the flag nuts.
All mine came out easy, and the flag nut came loose as soon as the
bolts were loosened. When I got it, the oxidation was not that bad, but it
sits outside...
