Which Company’s Tune for my Shelby GT500?

RE: Which Company’s Tune for my Shelby GT500?
Thanks for the info! On VMP's web site, He talks about testing all the different CAI's and said they all make about the same amount of power regardless of which one you get. He said that the CAI's only make about 15-17 HP more than the stock air box with a tune. So 55 HP with a tune and stock air box, and 70 HP with a CAI and a tune. So I don't know if you will really feel the extra 15-17 HP after you have your tune, but it will probably sound cool :-) The part that I am most interested in, is the power under the curve. On the dyno graft on VMP's web site they show a 77-ft/lb increase in torque at 2000 rpm's!

Agreed. If there was one area that the GT500 needed a little help was in the low end. Thats where I noticed the biggest difference right away when I got the tune and CAI.It definitley fattens up the torque curve.

I just got my SCT3 and tune from Brenspeed last friday. I still have the stock airbox (will be changing that soon). Of course I cannot say which is best but I am very happy with Brenspeeds tune. It did make a big difference in driving. Throttle lag is gone and I can feel the additional power. My 2 cents worth anyway.

Why dont you call Jay Tucker at JLT and ask him his recommendation. He makes the intakes and he now owns a GT500 so he would be talking from experience as wll.

Well, I ordered a tune from VMP Tuning yesterday; hopefully it will get here before next weekend! I also put some FRPP M5230 GTA axel backs on yesterday and they look and sound awesome! Can't wait for the tune. On VMP's web site, Justin says that if you buy one of his tunes, then buy a CAI later, that he will update your tune for free. So I am sure that I will get a CAI at some point, if for no other reason, just to here that supercharger wine
